The short version
Brooklyn-born. Edited by everyone. Finally writing my own draft.
I came up in Brooklyn, where the women in my life carried heartbreak, hope, and a full face of makeup at the same time and made it look like a posture. I learned the work of becoming from them long before I learned it from books. I learned to write from Joan Didion in the back of a station wagon and Biggie lyrics in the front. I learned how a woman is supposed to be edited from a long list of people who never asked.
For a long time, I let other people hold the pen. A teacher who decided what I was good at. A boyfriend who decided what I was difficult about. A boss who decided what room I belonged in. A magazine that told me what my body was. A family role I never auditioned for. I let those drafts run my life because I thought rewriting them was vanity. It is not vanity. It is the most expensive form of self-respect there is.
I write now because language is the cheapest leverage anyone has ever had over their own life, and because most women I love are still letting someone else use theirs. The Rewrite is the answer.

What I actually do
Three jobs, one thesis.
I write books. The Rewrite Series is a six-volume project on becoming the author of your own life. Vol. 01 — The Rewrite Starter Pack — is out now. Vols. 02 through 06 are in active draft.

I run The Margins. A private writing space on Patreon for readers who want the version of my work with the edits still showing. Poetry, memoir, voice notes, half-finished pieces, the strange holy mess of becoming. Three tiers, starting at $3/month.

Why this exists
The most expensive thing in your life is a sentence you didn't write.
The wrong sentence about you is on your LinkedIn. The wrong sentence about you is in your mother's mouth at Thanksgiving. The wrong sentence about you is what your last manager said at your last performance review and what your teenage diary said before that. The wrong sentence runs your salary, your relationships, your body, and your bank account. It is doing this right now, while you read this paragraph.
The right sentence costs whatever it takes to find it. A workbook. A coaching call. A Tuesday morning with a notebook. A six-month rewrite of every public surface of your life. This is what I do. I find the right sentence, and then I help you live in it.
